Privacy and local processing
The Paperdesk document editor runs in your browser. Selected PDF, Word and image data is processed on your device rather than submitted to a document-processing server by the editor.
Local processing does not mean no network activity
Your browser requests the website, application code and fonts from hosting infrastructure. These requests expose ordinary connection information such as an IP address and browser request headers to the service receiving them. Browser extensions, device software and files you send after export are outside Paperdesk’s control.
Web to PDF imports
When you import a URL, that URL (including any query parameters) is sent to Paperdesk’s Cloudflare-hosted import endpoint. The server retrieves the public webpage without your browser’s login cookies. Cloudflare DNS is used to check that the destination is public. The application does not intentionally save the imported URL or article to a database; hosting providers may process request metadata under their own policies. Do not submit private or token-bearing links.
Article extraction, preview edits, pasted content, saved HTML imports and print-to-PDF layout run in your browser. The reading copy is held in memory and disappears when the page is closed or refreshed. Images are enabled by default. Your browser requests them from their original websites, which receive ordinary connection information. You can turn off images in Page settings. The Web to PDF editor does not load advertising scripts.
Advertising
Paperdesk includes Google AdSense on the editor homepage and usage guide. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this or other websites. Advertising requests are separate from the editor’s local document processing. Ad availability depends on Google’s approval, your choices and the site’s ad settings.
You can manage personalized advertising through Google My Ad Center or learn more about how Google uses information from partner sites. Where a consent message is shown, use its choices to manage advertising preferences. The site may also load hosting analytics, such as Cloudflare Web Analytics; these network requests are distinct from document editing.
Your files and saved copies
Keep your original and explicitly export changes you wish to retain. Downloaded copies are stored wherever your browser saves them; removing a browser tab does not delete downloaded files. Avoid shared or untrusted devices for confidential work.
Contacting support
If you email support, your email provider and the receiving mailbox process your message. Share the error, browser and reproduction steps; do not send passwords or sensitive documents. Contact support@paperdeskpdf.com for questions.
